Shades of Grey - Shifter

First, garou and fera of course are welcome on this mush. We welcome, in order of how well these would fit and how many we already have:
     - Children of Gaia, Wendigo, Uktena, Bonegnawers, Silent Striders, Black Furies, Glasswalkers, Fianna, Get of Fenris, Bastet, Gurahl, Corax, Ratkin (these tribes or races are welcome and encouraged).
     - Stargazers, Silver Fangs, Shadow Lords (these are welcome if you can explain to us before you create one how they fit into the sphere and why there will be no threat to our cooperative rules)
As you can see Red Talons and some fera races aren't mentioned. We won't out of hand refuse a Red Talon or unmentioned fera race app but you will need to write a very good background, convincing us how your character will work in the group and why there will be no threat to our cooperative rules and speak to us about your character before you go into chargen. Realise that the chance that you will be allowed such a char will be very small.

Rank: We will not allow new characters in -any- rank above 2 except when the player has the trustvotes to merit the character. Fostern will only be allowed with an exceptional background. We prefer players to gain their own rank in the game. We prefer starting players to have rank 1, but if your char concept evolves around higher rank and the background is exceptional, we might consider it. An HCC or even FCC will have more chances to be approved as Fostern but still we will not go over rank 2, higher will be NPC's unless the sphere structure absolutely demands it, or if a player has the required trustvotes to be able to pay ahead of time for a rank three or more (a trustvote per rank, minus one if the char is HCC or FCC). We will allow cub apps, but we won't allow more than two or three per time in the sphere. Also be aware not all players enjoy roleplying teaching all the time and some of your teaching will be done off screen. It might take a few months or even a lot longer before you are deemed ready to try your rite of passage. We do advise to play a rank 1.

Apps without backgrounds: we will allow apps without backgrounds from the top line of tribes and races, only rank 1, not cub or fostern. You will have to keep to the other rules about apps without backgrounds: you can have one four in attributes and none in abilities, all your skills and such need to be three or lower. Also don't spend more than 3 points on any background and stick to the 3 gifts you are allowed in chargen, don't buy any more with freebies. Keep your willpower to 5 or lower. If this means you can't spend all your freebies you will be allowed to keep the number of freebies you can't spend as xp to spend later, which you might need because you will start with a -5 xp penalty for not having a background. We give this option for players who are burned out on backgrounds and who play a run of the mill garou or fera without any out of the ordinary things going on.

If you have a good enough background and idea you can try for a character that is not one of the ones we encourage, but we really need characters of the tribes on the first line. We could really use Wendigo and Uktena, though because of their specific geographical situation in Ketchikan they might or might not be part of the sept on the grid or mostly visitors. We would have to work that out in discussion together with you, to discuss how your char would fit in. To make up for having to play a -guest- to the sept, if you chose to play a character that has it's base in the Hyder sept, we will give 10 extra freebies to a character by itself who is Wendigo or Uktena and from Hyder, and a bit of extra rank for a pack app and the same amount of freebies per character.
