Shades of Grey - News Files

News Time We have chosen for now to use timecode with a ratio of sometimes 1:0.7 and sometimes 1:1.3 between rl and ic time. Time will run about a week to two weeks ahead of the current rl time, a year later. This way we can run stories that fit the seasons instead of trying to rp Halloween in the spring for example. We have nightzones and opposite time zones on the grid. Meaning that in the nightzones it's supposed to be night at all times, and in the opposite time zones it will be day if it's night on the rest of the grid and night if it's day on the rest of the grid. The time will run almost equal with rl time so we can rp according to the seasons and yearly festivities that are current. Players can choose to change the time zone (day or night) of a location, as long as that location is not a nightzone. The code to set a local nightzone is +night and +day (+help +night). A nightzone is considered to always be timed at night. If players choose to change a zone (an opposite time zone or a normal grid room) to the other zone, all players involved in the scene at that moment have to agree on this. If another player comes in this person needs to be warned the moment they come in of the timezone that was chosen for this scene. If the zone has become a dayzone and the player is a vampire that player can choose to ask the other players if the zone can be changed back to night, and unless they can give a very, very good reason not to, those players should comply because they are not limited in the time they can be on the grid, or the vampire player can choose to find a nightzone. Nightzones are considered to always be night, no matter what the time of day, and cannot be changed in time. For an overview of nightzones try '+nightzone' For an overview of opposite zones '+opzone' For information on both kinds '+zones'
